Great question! While we would love for that to be possible, our gel pad needs to be in direct contact with your skin for our pulse therapy to function properly.  

Like any other TENS machines, you should always be fully awake, conscious and of sound mind when using Monthli. Under no circumstances should you wear it to bed! 

Our high-grade gel pads can be used between 30-50 times! Depending on your level of usage, we advise our customers to replace their Gel Pads Monthly 😉. As a rule of thumb, the more care you put into keeping your gel pads clean and dust free, the longer they will last!

It is recommended to use Monthli for no more than 30 minutes at a time in one spot to prevent muscle fatigue, skin tingling, and redness. If you still experience cramps after 30 minutes of use, reposition your device to a different area on your skin near the origin of your pain.  

As tempting as that sounds, we do not recommend you use our device while it’s charging – but don’t fret, it only takes 2 hours to fully charge Monthli and you can enjoy 20 hours worth of pain relief as soon as that little indicator light turns off! Trust us when we say, it’s worth the wait.

Always double-check to see whether your device is on! Once turned on, you should see your device’s indicator light turn blue. You may want to adjust the position of your Monthli on your body to make sure it is correctly targeting the source of your pain. Once adjusted, please increase the intensity of your pulse therapy until you have reached your desired level of comfort. 

You should also double-check that the gel pads on the back cover the conductive edges. If the gel pads are not properly installed, the device may shut down automatically if the sensors cannot detect the gel pads on your skin or the pulses are not passing through.
